AUGUST 2014
ALINE TOOLBOX OF MICROFLUIDIC FUNCTIONS AT
MICRO-TAS LEARNING LAB, OCTOBER 29th, 2014
We now offer users the ability to engineer and operate a microfluidic chip with the functions and performance metrics that meet most single-use disposable requirements.

Typical functions in a multi-step analysis includes:
- metering,
- mixing,
- de-bubbling, and
- dispensing to the detector.
These functions are integrated into our demo card the M2D2.
Our pneumatic instrument platform, the ADEPT, can be configured to operate the sequence of operations necessary for these functions. A video of the M2D2 is shown here.
The learning lab will provide a how-to, hands-on opportunity to work with our instrument and a demo device with on-board valves and pumps, the M2D2 or a device that pumps fluid from a reservoir. You'll learn:
- how to configure the valve manifold for each of the chip functions,
- how to manually actuate the functions on the chip with the toggle switches on the instrument,
- how to write and load simple actuation routines into the ADEPT,
- how to design your own custom chip to do whatever operation you need for your experiment.
SPECIAL OFFER
Attendees at the learning lab will receive a 10% discount on the price of an instrument, and 2 free hours of design consultation to create your own device. In addition, University students or faculty interested in incorporating the ADEPT and ALine's chips into their lab or curriculum will receive special pricing. Contact Dr. Levine to learn more.
PUT A LID ON IT !
YOU'VE GOT THE MOLDED PIECE, HOW TO SEAL IT???
ALine has over ten years of experience in sealing and bonding thin films to thick sheets and films reproducibly. We have perfected the process of bonding a variety of materials with pressure sensitive, thermal bond, and direct bonding processes.
We have a 30 ton heated press and experience with solvent assisted and other surface activation techniques to achieve direct bonding.
