The Perifusion System v5 performs ex vivo testing of islets of Langerhans. A new milestone in diabetes research, this technology enables groups of islet cells to be studied in a variety of environments. To ensure that the system was successful, an internal highly multiplexed fluid handling manifold and 12-channel bubble trap was required. Biorep Diabetes turned to Aline’s engineering expertise to tackle these challenges.

A New Milestone in Diabetes Research!
The ALine Team developed a manifold with on-board pneumatic valves, actuated by external electro-mechanical controls. All 32 fluid streams are managed and can be combined by manipulating several sets of on board pneumatically controlled valves. These valves can then deliver the fluid to any one of the multiple output ports. Allowing researchers the ability to run multiple tests with varying chemical concentrations in a controlled environment
