Our prototyping and manufacturing capability supported the development of a fluidic card for cell culture in space. The successful launch in December 2006 proved that cells could be grown and monitored autonomously in a satellite-based cell culture system. |
The 12 well fluidic card contained a single inlet to feed all ten sample chambers. Each chamber had a membrane at the inlet and outlet to prevent sample loss and cross contamination. This arrangement also allowed even filling across all ten chambers. |
